A fundamental requirement on this Internet presentation was therefore to ensure the absence of obstacles as far as possible.

A great deal of information, offers and services are only available via the Internet nowadays. Internet presentations can however contain obstacles and exclude those who, for example, have poor eyesight or are even blind. The "World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)", a kind of coordination forum for the World Wide Web, already started making recommendations years ago for the planning, design and programming of Web presentations which offer people with different abilities as well the possibility of moving around the Web.

A fundamental requirement on this Internet presentation was therefore to ensure the absence of obstacles as far as possible. Presentations are free of obstacles when the contents can be understood with the aid of software - for example a screen-reader that reads aloud the contents of the screen. This means, however, that the contents of the Internet presentation must be structured in such a manner that they are suitable for being read aloud.

Conditions have therefore been set up at this website to make "reading" by voice output possible in a user-friendly way. There are, for example, text equivalents to images and tables and keyboard shortcuts for important links. For visually impaired persons, attention was given to providing a contrast between the colours of the foreground and background. The linearised structure of the pages also enables easy orientation and therefore ease of use.
